Local Support Spotlight
The Importance of Local Communities
Frank Lumber recognizes the importance of our local communities. Without thriving towns nearby, we would not have a steady workforce to operate our business. Many local families have had several generations work for us, and it is an honor and a privilege to have them join the Frank Family over the years. Other important partners are small woodlot owners who have supplied logs to our mill, local loggers, medical facilities, schools, local businesses, Mill City Fire Department, and the non-profits who provide basic needs. Not forgotten are the businesses and volunteers who fought the Labor Day fires on the hill behind our mill. Without your bravery we wouldn't be here today. Thank you everybody for your contribution to Frank Lumber.
Giving Back
In appreciation for all we have received, we strongly believe in giving back to the communities our employees and local residents live, play, and worship in. Ways we have supported our communities is by sponsoring children's sports teams and 4H endeavors, providing wood chips to playgrounds, and dining at local restaurants often. Some more notable examples are lumber donations to build a Baptist Church in Gates, new buildings for the Santiam Canyon School District, and the Detroit Community Center. We also hired and paid a contractor for significant electrical work that needed to be done to the Canyon Crisis Center.
After the Fire
After the Labor Day 2020 fires many of the small woodlot owners had standing timber that was burned. The thought of giving back to our community took on a new meaning and without hesitation, the Frank Family made the decision to purchase burn logs knowing that lumber yields both in volume and grade would not be good. These timber owners were there for us in good times, and we needed to be there for them during their bad times.
A Shared Commitment
It is noteworthy that there are other businesses, large and small in the Santiam Canyon who also view their partnership with the local communities as important, and many of them support the same projects and causes we do. We appreciate their involvement in our communities as it is a group effort when it comes to helping others.
Large support requests are reviewed in detail on an individual basis. Smaller requests for consideration that are $500 or less can be mailed to Frank Lumber or sent via our contact page by selecting inquiry type Sponsorship or Donation and attaching any documents along with your message.
