As a family-owned sawmill in Lyons, Oregon, we take pride in manufacturing quality Douglas Fir lumber right here in the USA. Our mill produces MSR (machine stress rated) lumber for truss manufacturers and lam stock for glulam beam fabricators. We manufacture lumber in sizes 2x4 through 2x10, in lengths from 8 feet to 20 feet. Each board is tested with our state of the art Metriguard system to ensure consistent density, stiffness, and strength—giving builders confidence in every piece of lumber we produce.
Our Dimensional Kiln Dried Douglas Fir Lumber is dried to 15% moisture or less to create durable, versatile lumber that performs well in a variety of climates, from moist coastal regions to drier, arid environments. We provide several sizes and grades to support all of our customer's needs.
We manufacture high-grade structural lumber specifically designed for glulam beam production. Our lumber is precision-graded for strength, uniformity, and dimensional stability, ensuring optimal bonding performance and consistency in engineered wood applications.
At Frank Lumber, we take pride in our high-quality lumber which led us to become the leaders of the MSR industry, established in 1963. We meticulously test every board of lumber to ensure it has the strength and durability to allow our customers to build projects that will stand the test of time. The MSR products sold at Frank Lumber are reliable and consistent, so customers know they will be receiving high-quality lumber with every purchase.

Our SelDex Kiln Dried Douglas Fir is the highest grade for strength and appearance, due to its minimal defects. Since Sel Dex is a lighter weight softwood, it is easy to work with while still providing the necessary stability and durability.
When choosing what wood product to use for your projects, it is important to consider strength, durability, and appearance. Our high grade Free of Heart Center (FOHC) lumber is strong and stable yet aesthetically pleasing, making it ideal for framing and other home projects where the physical appearance is just as important as the structural stability.
Douglas Fir is resistant to mold, insect damage, warping, and shrinking in a wide variety of weather conditions due to the high density of the wood, increasing the longevity of projects.
Douglas Fir is easily shaped, cut, and joined, making it perfect for complex projects. It is also very aesthetically appealing due to its uniform, straight grain pattern and warm color tones. If you want to add paint or stains to the wood, it applies easily, allowing for increased customization.
Douglas Fir can be used for a variety of purposes, both residential and heavy duty, such as framing, flooring, furniture, etc. making it the ideal wood for every project under the sun.
Douglas Fir is one of the strongest lumbers within the softwood category, making it ideal for uses typically reserved for hardwood lumber. Due to its lighter weight, it is easier to work with.
